Necessities – On The Go

Necessities – On The Go

Our list of must have “on-the-go” baby gear items for twins and singletons.  Remember, to leave the hospital with your baby, you need to have the infant car seat safely installed.

Buy these items before baby is born:

(1)* Infant Car Seat – we have the Graco Click Connect and like it.  I know Chicco is popular too.  I chose Graco because it is the lightest car seat, which is a big advantage when having twins:

Graco SnugRide Click Connect 35

*will need (2) of these for twins

(1)* Car Seat Base per car –

*will need (2) of these per car for twins

(1) Stroller Travel System – go for the stroller frame, it is much lighter than the convertible strollers. Once the baby can sit up it will be easier to get a lightweight umbrella stroller, rather than the bulkier, heavier convertible stroller:

Baby Trend Universal Double Snap-N-Go Stroller Frame

Joovy Twin Roo+ Car Seat Stroller

Buy these items before or after baby is born:

(1)* Convertible Car Seat per car – when picking a convertible seat consider if you are planning to have more children. It could be important to pick convertible seats that will allow you to fit three car seats across in your car.  There are lists online of the seats that will do this for any size vehicle, including this post from Babycenter which I found helpful:

47 car seats that fit 3-across in most vehicles

*will need (2) of these for twins

(1) Umbrella Stroller – For the twins we had the Chicco Echo double stroller and we really liked it. For our singleton we have the Summer Infant 3D-one convenience stroller. We have been using it for about a month and like it so far. There is a cheaper version called the 3D lite that also has good reviews, if you are looking to save some money.
