When To Start Using a Side-By-Side Stroller with Twins
For the side-by-side strollers that are being reviewed below you will need to wait until your babies are able to sit up with support. This stage happens at around 4-6 months old. I will note however, that the most expensive strollers do have an option to buy a car seat adapter, allowing you to use the stroller from the newborn stage.
However instead of the car seat adapter, I would recommend using a lightweight double frame stroller that you can insert infant car seats into. I prefer this option because a frame stroller is very, very light.
You can use the frame stroller until your twins grow out of their infant car seats and you stop using the car seats to move them into and out of the stroller. This will likely happen anywhere from 6-9 months old.

Best Side-By-Side Travel Strollers for Twins
There are two types of side-by-side double strollers that I will be reviewing. The first ones listed in this section I consider to be more lightweight.
They are good for going out and about for errands and general use. Their quality is not quite as high as the jogging strollers, but they are much more lightweight and less bulky, which I consider to be a huge bonus. So, let’s get started reviewing the best side-by-side travel strollers for twins.
1 – Jeep Scout
The Jeep Scout is the new version of the double side-by-side stroller we used for our twins. I loved this stroller because it was lightweight (for a double stroller) and took a lot of abuse and lasted for over 3 years. We even gave it away when we were done because it was still usable.
The seats recline allowing for naps when needed and a cup holder is included as well. One negative is storage capacity. There are bags and compartments on the back of the seats, but no under seat storage.
This could create problems for storing a diaper bag. Despite this, at the end of the day, I consider this to be a great basic double stroller option – especially with its very reasonable price tag.
2 – Kolcraft Cloud
If you are looking for a stroller with more storage capacity than the Jeep Scout, but still in a reasonable price range the Kolcraft Cloud Plus double stroller is probably perfect for you. Although this stroller is a little bulkier than the Jeep Scout, it includes trays for your twins to eat and drink off of.
The trays might make it a little more difficult to get your babies in and out of this stroller, but they are removable as needed. If you are looking for a cost effective, lightweight double stroller with a lot of storage, then this is the stroller for you!
3 – Jeep Destination
If you are looking for a stroller that’s a little easier to maneuver and push around, then the Jeep Destination is a great option that is still on the lower end of the price range for double strollers. At less than 30 lbs, this stroller still qualifies as lightweight and the under seat bin provides plenty of storage space.
The reclining seats and foot rests ensure your twins will be comfortable in this stroller too. The child bars offer protection and something for your twins to hold on to, but they conveniently swing out to make it easy to get your babies in and out of this stroller. In my opinion, the main reason to get this stroller would be because it’s easier to push and maneuver than the options listed above.
4 – Joovy Kooper
Although the Joovy Kooper double stroller is one of the most expensive travel double strollers on this list, it checks all the boxes of what you might be looking for. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and easy to maneuver. Plus, your babies can easily recline, rest their feet, and use the snack tray that swings out.
If you are looking for a lightweight travel side-by-side stroller for twins with all the bells and whistles, that will make your time going out and about as easy as possible, the Joovy Kooper is the best stroller for your family.
5 – Baby Jogger City Tour 2
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 is another option for the side-by-side double stroller in the higher price range. This a very popular stroller brand then many parents adore. One of the biggest advantages of this stroller is it’s slightly more narrow build, making it easy to get through doorways.
Additionally, the reclining position for the seats is almost completely flat, which is great for napping. You also get a lifetime warranty on the frame of this stroller.
Finally, a newer feature of this stroller is you can buy the infant insert separately, so you can even use this stroller when your twins are newborns. At the end of the day, in my opinion, if you opt for this double travel stroller you will not be disappointed.
Best Side-By-Side Jogging Strollers for Twins
If you plan to do more with your stroller than errands and generally going out and about then a double jogging stroller is what you will need. You will want a jogging stroller if you plan to bring the stroller on terrain other than paved roads and sidewalks.
If you want to go running, on long walks, hiking, or to the beach, a jogging stroller is what you will want. Jogging strollers are heavier than travel strollers, but they are quite a bit easier to push and maneuver.
It’s also important to note that you should wait until your babies are at least 6 months old until putting them in this type of stroller. Here is my list of the best side-by-side jogging strollers for twins.
1 – Baby Trend Expedition
If you are looking for a good quality, basic jogging stroller with by far the best price tag then the Baby Trend Expedition is what you will want to get. This stroller has a canopy, reclining seats, good underneath storage, and a parent tray with cup holders.
Personally, this would be my pick for a jogging stroller because I always look for the best deal while still getting a good quality product. If you need a jogging stroller and don’t care about any extra features, this is the stroller for you.
2 – Baby Jogger City Mini GT2
The City Mini GT2 is a very popular double jogging stroller. The all-terrain rubber tires never go flat. This stroller provides a huge compartment for storage and super comfortable reclining seats with calf supports.
Something cool about this stroller is that it accepts the most popular infant car seats, so you can use it from the newborn stage if you want. It does require an adapter that you purchase separately to make this work. Each seat can support a child up to 50 lbs (which is a lot), so you can use it even longer than most of the strollers mentioned previously.
If you are looking for a well-tested and well-loved stroller that will last a long time, this double jogging stroller could be for you. Just keep in mind these popular features are some of the reasons this is one of the most expensive strollers on this list.
3 – BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0
BOB jogging strollers are very popular and loved by many parents. The BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie provides similar perks to the Baby Jogger City Mini 2 such as an adjustable handlebar, compatible with infant car seats when an adapter is purchased separately, and a large amount of storage space.
This stroller has the best canopy sun protection of all the strollers on this list, but it is (just barely) the heaviest on the list at a little over 33 lbs. Just as with the City Mini double jogging stroller if you are looking for the very best quality stroller that is tried and tested by parents for many years, this could be the stroller for you.
