So you’re having twins or they have already arrived and you are wondering what type of diaper bag to get. You might be surprised to find out you don’t need a special diaper bag or an even an extra large diaper bag to handle two babies.
As long as you get a diaper bag that can fit at least 2 bottles (but I do think the more you have the better) and has a enough space for a few extra diapers and toys, you will be all set. As a twin mom myself, I am sharing my thoughts on the top qualities to look for in a twin diaper bag, plus sharing my picks for the best diaper bags for twins below.

Qualities To Look For in a Diaper Bag for Twins
The number one thing you are probably thinking about is the size diaper bag you will need, since you will need one that can carry items for two babies. You will want to get a good sized, somewhat large diaper bag. However, it doesn’t need to be ridiculously big.
The key is to find a bag that is large, but not overly bulky so you can still carry it easily. The other thing to look for is a bag with many compartments and holders for bottles, diapers, wipes, etc. Other important diaper bag qualities include:
- Durable material
- Comfortable to carry
- Insulated bottle holder pockets
- Items are easily accessible
- Comes with a changing pad
- Cost – best bang for your buck
- Neutral colors

Best Backpack Diaper Bags for Twins
A backpack diaper bag is by far the most recommended diaper bag type by twin parents. They can hold so much stuff, are easy to carry, and you can hang these bags on the stroller if needed.
Believe it or not, I did not have this style of diaper bag, but if I was going to do it all over that’s the way I would go now. Here is my list of the best backpack diaper bags for twins.
1 – BabbleRoo Waterproof Diaper Bag Backpack
The BabbleRoo diaper bag has so much storage and includes FIVE insulated pockets for baby bottles. This is one of the main reason this is my top pick for twins. I also love that it is waterproof, which is a huge bonus. On top of all that this diaper backpack also comes with a wet wipes compartment and a pacifier case.
2 – Extra Large Diaper Bag Backpack for Two Kids
The biggest benefit of the Qualyphant Extra Large Diaper Bag Backpack is that it is expandable. If you need a really large amount of space, you can make this bag larger. But, if it’s not needed and you don’t want to carry around the extra bulk you don’t have to – pretty cool.
It has four insulated pockets for bottles, which is awesome for twins. This diaper bag has a pocket for wipes, comes with a changing pad, and is made with waterproof material. If you are worried about having enough space, this is the bag for you!
3 – ALLCAMP Diaper Bag Large
If you are looking for a diaper bag that has a little more style or one that can be used as either a backpack or a tote bag, the ALLCAMP Diaper Bag might be the perfect fit for you. The fashionable design of this bag is made from waterproof material. You get three insulated bottle pockets and a large compartment for storage.
This bag is not quite as large as the other backpacks listed above, but it will still provide the space your need for twins. It also comes with a changing pad and a compartment for wipes.
4 – Itzy Ritzy Diaper Bag Backpack
If you are looking for a diaper bag in the luxury category when it comes to baby items – this is it! The Itzy Ritzy Diaper Bag Backpack is known for its stylish design. This is by far the priciest bag on the list due to its well known name and unique style.
This backpack has Itzy Ritzy’s signature rubber feet, which keep the bag upright and its bottle clean. You also get 19 pockets for organizing, the largest number of any of the bags listed here. Finally, this spacious bag includes two insulated pockets for bottles and a wipeable changing pad with its own separate zippered pocket.
5 – Skip Hop Diaper Bag Backpack
Skip Hop is a much respected baby brand and the Skip Hop diaper bag does not disappoint. This diaper bag backpack provides plenty of space for all the baby wipes, diapers, bottles, and other items you will need when on the go.
This bag is made of water repellant material and comes with a changing pad, plus two packing cubes for ultimate organization. You do get two insulated pockets for bottles, so if you need more than that you might need to pack a travel bottle cooler bag too.
6 – Parker Baby Diaper Backpack
I have put the Parker Baby Diaper Backpack on this list because it meets all the criteria for a diaper bag for twins and provides a little bit different design than the other bags we already discussed. This backpack has plenty of storage space, including two insulated pockets for bottles.
You also get a changing pad that can easily be wiped clean and the bag itself is water resistant as well. The leather accents are made from vegan leather.
Best Tote Diaper Changing Bag for Twins & Multiples
Maybe a diaper bag backpack is just not for you. I totally get that and as I mentioned above, I didn’t have one either. I used the Fisher-Price Diaper Bag Tote, which is what I recommend.
This bag has plenty of space (way more than enough in my opinion) for twins. This bag holds up to 7 bottles, including 3 that are insulated pockets!
You get a wipes pocket and an easy to wipe clean changing pad. This bag also comes with stroller clips, which means that just like all the backpack diaper bags listed, you can easily attach this bag to your stroller.
Those are my picks for the best diaper bags for twins, which one do you think will work best for your family?
